Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican American sportscaster. The present sportscaster is for ESPN, working as anchor for SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. She began working for ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bilingual since her age of nine. Her abilities were crucial in securing her first post as a an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami in which she worked with the producers of the shows Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. They hired her as reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. She relocated to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to work as a reporter on one of the Spanish channels KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. She reported on stories related to the issue of immigration and trafficking drugs within both Texas as well as Mexico. The duties of anchoring on weather and sports was also frequently requested. The family moved from Mexico to Miami in 1992, after having left Mexico. In 1992, her parents split then shortly thereafter in 1995 she married Fabio Fajardo who was an engineer in the naval sector who passed away in the year 2006 after suffering from kidney cancer. In the summer of 2006, she had the week she spent with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working at the time. At the time of her senior year at high school, but knowing exactly about what she wanted to pursue for her life, Antonietta was able to visit The University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her needs. It was discovered that she was a fan of the campus, and the university offered the major she wanted. Following the completion of her high school education, she enrolled in the university to study media studies. The professor she had was Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM, and was student in her class, formed a strong relationship with her. The professor who taught her Mark Bergmann inspired her by his passion in journalism. He also deeply impacted her.
